Harris is a good host, but without Rory I think he’s better off doing solo reviews.

I say we let top gear and the grand tour die. Both of them are jokes of themselves nowadays and not funny anymore.

Never once watched it without Clarkson. Never really enjoyed Harris in Drive either.

As a long time TG fan, I agree. The automotive TV world needs a hard reset and some fresh ideas/faces rather than continuing to prop up the old model ad infinitum

TG3 was shit.

TG4 was highly enjoyable.

Matt was the most watchable part of TG3 and Matt-Rory-Chris worked very well together, an admirable 3 stooges replacement.

TG5 should just be cancelled.

They are still working at their chemistry on “Extra Gear”. I think any chance of TG even being so bad it’s funny is billion dollar lottery ticket slim.

Harris was really the only candidate thus far who could instill the necessary amount of loathable Brit offset by obvious grasp of assembling a segment. The only one who has went against the grain and won in the auto world. He didn’t deserve the lead on TG nearly as much as fans of the show didn’t deserve TG, the revamped TG, and GT to suck this bad.

Honestly, I watched TG with Clarkson a little bit for car stuff and a lot for dry British humor.

TBH, Harris bores me. I appreciate the cinematography and driving skills, but he just doesn’t present in an interesting manner. The fact that he also drives with the steering wheel almost against his chest also bugs me. Rory also isn’t very interesting, in the interest of full disclosure.

TL;DR: Matt LeBlanc needs a U.S.-based car show. He was/is passionate and entertaining as heck. Even if he allegedly believes in Sasquatch.

it’s been dead since the fracas, they needed to put it on ice for a while and let something new take shape organically. I think I gave it 3 episodes and haven’t watched since.
